Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Recall mobile application and this website (together, the “Service”) provided by memba (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Recall, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Recall is a personal, on-device life journal. You use it to capture and organize memories on your own device. We do not provide cloud sync or hosted storage for your journal content.
2. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Recall on devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store or Google Play terms that apply to your download.
3. Your content and responsibility
You retain ownership of the content you enter into Recall. You are responsible for that content, for backing it up if you care about keeping it (for example via the in-app export), and for complying with applicable law. Do not use the App for unlawful purposes.
4. Privacy
How the App handles information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of how you understand the Service.
5. Third-party services
Optional features may contact third-party services (for example open map / geocoding providers when you search for a place name). Those services are governed by their own terms. App Store and Google Play are third-party platforms with their own rules.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that local data will never be lost — keep your own backups of important memories.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, memba and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the App was free).
8. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using Recall at any time by deleting your data in-app and uninstalling. We may stop offering the App or specific features.
9. App Store / Play Store terms
If you downloaded Recall from Apple or Google, you also agree that those platforms’ standard licensed application end-user terms may apply, and that Apple and Google are not responsible for maintenance, support, or warranty claims related to Recall except as required by their policies.
